Is Lawton still getting a grocery store on 2nd Street?
The CashSaver on Gore Boulevard is the only grocery store located in downtown Lawton. Last year, it was announced that an acquisition firm out of Texas had acquired the lot at the corner of NW Ferris and 2nd Street with the intention of constructing a grocery store.
As of Friday, March 27, there has yet to be an announcement as to what grocery store would be built on the lot. In an article from The Lawton Constitution, the Lawton Economic Development Authority (LEDA) extended the inspection for the developer, but could not reveal the name of the store due to a non-disclosure agreement.
