Cassadee Pope invited members of the music industry to an intimate music preview on Tuesday evening (April 24), and she invited a few friends, too.

Chris Young was a surprise guest for Pope's event at Nashville's Analog at the Hutton Hotel, and of course she brought him up to sing. After performing several songs solo, Pope thanked producer Corey Crowder for his unyielding support. She first met Crowder while working with Young on their duet, "Think of You," and said it was only fitting for her to bring her duet partner to the stage.

Together, they sang their Grammy-nominated chart topper, and they seemed at ease, laughing as they traded verses and harmonized on the chorus. While Pope sang about meeting her girls for a night out and raising their drinks in the air, Young slyly grabbed one of her guitar picks and put it in his pocket.

Pope recently released a new single called "Take You Home" independently after her departing from record label Big Machine Label Group. In an interview with Taste of Country, she says the single was the start of a new chapter despite there being "a really dark time."

"People are going to understand what I went through better from hearing these songs, which is the goal," Pope says. "The sad songs in this batch that I just recorded, you can really feel the emotion. The happy songs such as ‘Take You Home,’ it helped me escape the sadness during that time."

In a press release issued Wednesday, Pope says she was pleased to see how the music is being embraced. "I felt a sense of camaraderie and support that I have never felt anywhere else. I'm so grateful to be part of such an amazing community of creative people who 'get' one another and lift each other up," she says. "Plus, it feels really awesome to know that people are embracing my new music!"
