Today's catch of the day answers a question (at least in my mind) that has haunted me for years: what would happen if Fleetwood Mac sang country? I know, the Dixie Chicks already answered that question when the covered "Landslide", but humor me.

Cameron Marvel Ochs was born and raised in San Francisco, California and grew up tending horses on her grandparents ranch in Oceanside, where she helped her grandfather feed the horses while listening to Patsy Cline, Bonnie Raitt and Willie Nelson. Cam took those influences close to her heart, later learning to sing country in multiple languages, so she could share its messages while studying in the Netherlands.

After recording several demos of material of she had written, Cam began to see things go her way in 2012, when one of those demos landed in the hands of Tim McGraw's manager Scott Siman. He presented Cam's song "Fall Madly In Love With You" to another of his clients, Maggie Rose, and the tune ended up on Rose's 2013 debut album Cut To Impress.

Cam soon moved to Nashville to concentrate on her writing, but turned down a publishing contract in order to prove she could succeed simply on the merits of her songs. A second song, Maybe You're Right landed on Miley Cyrus' 2013 album Bangerz, proving there just might be a tremendous upside of doing things her own way.

She is currently in the studio working on her debut album, financed by a Kickstarter campaign. The second single from the project is in our spotlight today. "Burning House" is our Catch of the Day, new music you haven't heard, but you'll want to hear it again.
