Today we feature an artist who's multi-genre abilities are quite apparent when he plays live, but as a recording artist, he stays true to his second generation country lines.

Chase Bryant's music focuses on the commonalities people share; the dreams, the destinations, the paths that we have all lead. Raised in the small town of Orange Grove, about an hour south of San Antonio, Bryant was influenced by the country music world from an early age. His grandfather Jimmy Bryant, a piano player, played for Roy Orbison for many years and also played for Waylon Jennings during his career. Chase is also the nephew of Jeff and Junior Bryant, who co-founded the group Ricochet.

Born Chase Yaklin, Chase names his family as his biggest influences, but also credits Conway Twitty, Merle Haggard, Steve Wariner and Vince Gill, as well as records by Keith Urban and Sarah Buxton for influencing his passion and his style. Bryant also sites rockers like Tom Petty and Bryan Adams for shaping the performer he became.

Song writing has always been a big part of Chase's passion. After graduating high school, Bryant's parents encouraged him to move to Los Angeles to make his musical way. After a short time in L.A., he made his way to Nashville, which had always been the goal for his journey. He enlisted his family connections, Bryant met with Ray Orbison's widow Barbara, who was a prominent Nashville publisher. Bryant was offered a publishing contract right away, making Chase her final signing before she passed.

Bryant released a self-titled EP in 2010 on the local label HOR Records. It caught the attention of Broken Bow Records, who signed the Texan to a recording contract with their Red Bow division in 2013. One of the first changes the label made was to change his last name to his mother's maiden name, which was more recognizable in the music industry and also more radio and record friendly. The label was so impressed with the first project and Chase's demo projects, all of which he self-produced, they allowed the young artist the opportunity to co-produce his self-titled debut EP. In 2014 the label released the EP, which features two top-10 hits, "Take It On Back" and "Little Bit Of You". He has toured in support of the EP as the opening act for Brantley Gilbert, Billy Currington and Tim McGraw.

With the success of the two singles, Red Bow Records green-lighted a full-length debut album for Bryant. He is currently in the studio, hard at work on the project. The first single from the as yet unnamed album is in our spotlight today. Chase Bryant and "Room To Breathe" is today's Catch of the Day, new music you haven't heard, but you're going to want to hear it again.
