‘Catch of the Day’ – Stephanie Quayle – “Selfish” [AUDIO]
Today's artist is signed to a small independent label, Rebel Engine Entertainment, which would generally mean she would be featured on Unsigned/Indy Artist Thursday. But sometimes, a performance is so good, that it defies that classification and bolts to the top of the list.
Today is one of those 'sometimes'.
Stephanie Quayle was born and raised on a working buffalo ranch in Bozeman, Montana, and began playing piano at 4 years old. By 12 she had written her first song, and by 15, Quayle had begun to teach herself to play guitar, leading to her forming her first band while still in high school. Country music had always been her passion, and by the time she got up on her first stage, she had already begun putting her personal experiences and poetry to music and forming her own style.
Quayle headed to Nashville in 2008, performing everywhere she could and getting her songs into the hands of other artists. In 2012, she co-wrote what would become the 2013 CMA Song of the Year for Lee Brice, "I Drive Your Truck". As her reputation as a song-writer grew, so did her opportunities to perform. She's opened for Brice, Trace Adkins, Gary Allan, Jon Pardi and many others, performing at countless music festivals across the country.
Quayle released her debut album, Ain't No Housewife in 2011, and followed it with Love The Way You See Me, on September 1st. Her debut single, "Drinkin' With Dolly", featured on her current album, peaked early on the chart, topping out at #72.
Today, we have the album's second single in our spotlight. Brought to you by All American Super Car Wash of Lawton, Stephanie Quayle and "Selfish" is today's Catch of the Day, new music you haven't heard, but you're gonna wanna hear it again.
