Country Artists Get Sassy on Twitter During First Presidential Debate
The first presidential debate of the 2016 election season took place on Monday night (Sept. 26), and like many Americans, a number of country artists were glued to their TVs during the event. Also like many Americans, they got a little snarky when sharing their thoughts on social media.
Chely Wright was one of the most active during the debate, sharing retweets and her own thoughts, but for those who were more interested in playing a debate drinking game, Natalie Maines had a dangerous idea. Jaren Johnston's way of watching the event likely made a number of his followers think "same here!" while Brandy Clark had us legitimately LOL'ing.

Additional presidential debates are set to take place on Oct. 9 and Oct. 19; a vice presidential debate is scheduled for Oct. 4. The United States' 2016 presidential election is on Nov. 8.
