This Small Hut Cooks Up Oklahoma’s Best Fried Chicken

Oklahoma knows a thing or two about fried chicken. The dish is offered on almost every menu at a home cooking local eatery. And a small hut in Frederick, Oklahoma, makes some of the best fried chicken locals and those passing through have had in a long time.

The town of Frederick does not have many restaurants. So options are slim for residents and visitors. But one little chicken shop tucked behind the county courthouse in a small hut is serving up some delicious eats.

Chick-n Coop opened in downtown Frederick last year and has already received nearly a 5-star rating on Google. The restaurant mainly serves chicken, like fried chicken and chicken tenders. But the restaurant also serves up some delicious sides that are raved about just as much as the fried chicken, including fried okra, fried jalapenos, mashed potatoes and gravy and mac and cheese.

And if you follow them on Facebook, they regularly have specials, like tender mashed potato bowls, and other featured dishes like chicken and waffles, Cajun sandwich and chicken tacos.

One review indicated that the food was delicious and the service was friendly and that they had the best fried chicken they've had in a long time. Another review stated that they were passing through Frederick and decided to stop and were so glad they did because of the food.

Chick-n Coop is located at 112 West Floral in Frederick and is open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday-Friday.
