Comanche County Memorial Hospital today announced the appointment of Melissa Alvillar to Chief Nursing Officer. Alvillar has performed the duties of Administrative Director of Nursing Operations since March of 2020.

Nursing has been a passion that started early in her career as it began in 2002 as a Certified Nursing Assistant in California.  She served as a CNA in Long Term and Accute Care as she transitioned into the Licensed Practical Nursing program.

Melissa completed the LPN program and moved to Oklahoma, where she dreamed of being a Nurse in the Labor & Delivery Department, but had to pursue a Registered Nursing degree.  After completing a Bachelors of Nursing degree from SWOU, she decided to continue her nursing education with a Masters of Nursing in 2021.  Her education will not end there,  Melissa plans to return to the classroom to capture a Doctorate degree in Nursing.

I am so appreciative of the opportunities I have been given to be a part of Nursing and moving forward here at Comanche County Memorial Hospital!” In her new role, Melissa plans to help heal and rebuild the team post-pandemic. She plans to focus on patient safety and patient satisfaction as a top priority.
