If you like country music you already know how deep the roots are. Coming in 2018, filmmaker Ken Burns is going to uncover some of the mystery that is associated with country music. Burns is not new to the documentary area. He has films on baseball, wars (especially the Civil war) and on jazz music.  His work on Country Music, will chronicle those whose roots are deep like the Carter Family, Bob Wills and Hank Williams SR. to name a few.

PBS will air it upon completion in 2018 and tell the story of country music's evolution throughout the 20th century. It starts with the earliest of raw down to earth country music then moving through the 1960's with Johnny Cash, George Jones and Loretta Lynn. Jumping into the heyday of 70's and 80's leading up to the superstars of country music in the 1990's like Garth Brooks.

Although he is a music enthusiast, will he be able to answer his own question 'what is country music?' We will have to wait and see.
