CRS 2017 New Faces Nominees Announced
Voting for the CRS 2017 New Faces of Country Music Show is now open, and the five acts with the most votes once the polling closes will be elected as the lineup for the event, which features performances from the hottest new acts in the genre each year.
The list of contenders is an impressive one looking ahead to 2017. It includes 11 hopefuls who have 2016 CMA Awards wins, No. 1 singles and headlining tours under their belts: Lauren Alaina, Tucker Beathard, Chase Bryant, Chris Lane, William Michael Morgan, Maren Morris, Jon Pardi, Michael Ray, Granger Smith, Drake White and Brett Young.
All full-time country radio station employees are eligible to vote via CountryRadioSeminar.com. Voting will be open until Nov. 25. The New Faces of Country Music Show will be held at the Omni Hotel Nashville during CRS 2017.
Morris is a standout looking ahead to the 2017 CRS New Faces stage. The singer was named New Artist of the Year at the recent CMA Awards and extended her first-ever headlining tour. She was the leader of the pack for CMAs nominations, too, with a total of seven going into the show.
“I feel incredibly lucky to have received this award at the 50th [anniversary of the CMA] Awards,” Morris said backstage at the CMAs. “I think there was so much tradition in the audience and so many icons, but at the same time, the reflection of the winners … I feel like the tide is turning here in Nashville. Seeing people like Brothers Osborne win is huge … It just makes me so happy that new blood is coming in and being recognized."
