I remember going to rodeo dances all over Wyoming and Minnesota where Chris LeDoux would be playing at the after rodeo dance. Ask any rodeo cowboy from before 2002 and they will tell you that Chis LeDoux was a true rodeo cowboy. He won the PRCA Bareback World Championship in 1976 and officially retired from rodeo in 1984. His biggest hit was "Watcha Gonna Do With a Cowboy" from his album of the same name, reaching #7 in 1992.

The last time I saw him in concert was on his birthday, October 2nd, 2004. I had a back stage pass to meet him but they came out and told me he wasn't going to be receiving visitors that night under doctors orders, I was so disappointed. His concert that night was upbeat and exciting. Who knew that was going to be the last time I would see him in concert. Chris passed away in March of 2005 after a long battle with cancer. It wasn't until after he passed that my niece Erin informed me that she had been taking care of him in the hospital at Casper. She said they were under strict orders not to discuss the case with anyone! She also told me he was very kind and a complete gentleman right until his death.
