A friend of mine asked if I had heard the new song by Garth Brooks titled "Mom". I had to admit I had not. She couldn't believe it! She said he had performed it on Good Morning America and on Ellen and there wasn't a dry eye in the entire studio audience or even in the staff, so I just had to do some searching and watch the video. I have been a little busy lately! Oh my gosh - I just can't listen to this song or even read the words without crying! My husband David and I are childless but not by choice. This song really hit home for me as I'm sure it would for lots of women Moms!

Here are some of the lyrics:

So, hush now little baby, don't you cry
Cause there's someone down there waiting whose only goal in life
Is making sure you're always gonna be alright
A loving angel tender tough and strong
Come on child it's time to meet your mom

Garth performed "Mom" during a November 7, 2014 appearance on Good Morning America, receiving a great deal of media attention in promotion of the album. The song was written by Wynn Varble and Don Sampson but, did you know it is a remake of a song originally recorded by Bonnie Tyler? Bonnie first heard the song being performed at a session in the Bluebird Cafe, Nashville, Tennessee. She selected the song to appear on Rocks and Honey. Here is a link to her version of the song. Bonnie is probably best known for her #1 song from 1978 "It's a Heartache".

If you would like to download "Man Against Machine" sorry, the singles are not available for download, just the album. Here is a link to his album on GhostTunes. Be patient, you have to download Java to your computer in order for it to work properly. Oh, then restart you computer, then go back to the website and THEN download the album. He sure doesn't make it very easy.
