Flatland Cavalry Fiddle Player, Laura Jane Houle, Exits Band
Laura Jane Houle has played her final show with Flatland Cavalry, according to her Instagram. Her last show with the band was on July 28th at the Ward County Arena as part of the Butterfield Bull Rides in Monahans, TX.
“On Saturday, I played my last show as the fiddler for Flatland Cavalry in Monahans, TX. Being a musician is an incredible joy. One of the best parts about being on the road is meeting fans of the fiddle, especially the young ones who are inspired to pick up the bow. I am spending some time in the Hill Country and looking forward to pursuing my next endeavor in the music industry in my sequins and fringe.”
If it's Houle's desire, we sure hope she lands somewhere where we can still appreciate her mad fiddle skills. The band posted to Instagram that they will be auditioning fiddle players over the next few months.
To all of our fans, friends and family: We played our last show with Laura this past Saturday. We wish her all the best in all of her future endeavors! • Moving forward... we are excited about our new single coming out in August, releasing a brand new record this Fall, and playing many more shows across Texas and the U.S. and overseas! We will also be auditioning a few fiddlers throughout the process. As we move forward in love, we can only hope that you will do the same. May God bless us on our new journeys. Cheers -F.C
