Florida Georgia Line’s Collab With Bebe Rexha Really Is ‘Meant to Be’ [Listen]
Florida Georgia Line keep surprising fans with unique collaborations, first with the Backstreet Boys and now with pop artist Bebe Rexha on a song called "Meant to Be."
It's a track from singer-songwriter Rexha’s record All Your Fault: Part 2 — "Meant to Be" is an extremely catchy, but laid back pop song with just the right mix of pure, quality vocals, acoustic instrumentation and electronic percussion. FGL's Tyler Hubbard takes the first verse and chorus, with Rexha coming in on the second.
The song actually has a bit of a country soul — after all, its lyrical sentiment fits well with the spirit of country music: "We got nothin’ but time / as long as you’re right here next to me everything’s gonna be alright…so won’t you ride with me, ride with me / see where this thing goes / If it’s meant to be, it’ll be."
FGL Are Among Country's Highest-Paid Stars!
Rexha's voice blends well with FGL's mixed vocals, creating a nice rounded-out harmony in the chorus that may make fans wonder why the band doesn’t just work with pop stars on all their songs. Check out the full audio for the track above.
FGL are wrapping up a stadium tour — in which they sold out Fenway Park — and recently celebrated their album Dig Your Roots’ platinum certification from the RIAA. They also released new video for their song “Smooth,” which features their longtime songwriter buddy Craig Wiseman (a.k.a. “Cat Daddy”). In the video, which Brian Kelley co-directed, the guys have to try to get Wiseman to his Vegas wedding on time, which in real life acted as a vow renewal.
It was recently announced Florida Georgia Line will be headlining WE Fest in 2018 with Jason Aldean, and their version of the Monday Night Football theme, which they recorded with Hank Williams, Jr. and Jason Derulo, debuts this fall.
