One of the most unique holiday events in southwest Oklahoma is the annual Candlelight Stroll on Fort Sill. The stroll is hosted by the Fort Sill National Historic Landmark and Museum and visits some of the base's historic homes, all decorated for the holiday season.

This year's Candlelight Stroll will take place Dec. 15 on Fort Sill. Attendees will go back in time by candlelight and visit various historic locations on Fort Sill, including the Guardhouse, Buffalo Soldier Barracks, Sherman House, Chapel, and First School of Fire.

Tickets now available for Fort Sill's Candlelight Stroll!

Tickets for the Candlelight Stoll on Fort Sill became available on Nov. 19 and will be available through 5 p.m. Dec. 11 at the Fort Sill Visitor's Center. The Candlelight Stroll is free to the public.

According to the Fort Sill National Historic Landmark and Museum, the Candlelight Stroll is actually a fast-paced walk with a few stairs. Therefore the Candlelight Stroll is not recommended for small children or those with mobility concerns.

During the stroll, attendees will be able to experience what Fort Sill would have been like at Christmas during the 1800s. Guides will be dressed in period costumes and some of Fort Sill's historic homes will be decorated for the holidays.
