Gretchen Wilson has dodged a possible criminal case in her recent arrest.

The 45-year-old "Redneck Woman" singer was arrested on Aug. 21 at Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks, Conn., around 7PM. She was initially charged with breach of peace after police received a call about a "minor disturbance" on her flight.

While interviewing Wilson on the jetway, she "became belligerent toward the troopers and caused a disturbance,” a police report says. The Associated Press states that Wilson agreed to donate $500 to a fund for injured crime victims in a Superior Court appearance in Enfield, Conn., on Thursday (Sept. 13) in exchange for the charges being set aside. They will be dropped officially in 13 months if she complies with the terms of the deal.

According to the AP, Wilson reiterated that everyone has bad days, but celebrities are targeted when they have one. She was slated to return home to Tennessee on Thursday.

Wilson spoke to Taste of Country on Aug. 29 — her first interview after the arrest —and explained that the incident was misunderstood. "I'm saddened by the whole thing," she admits. "I don't know that I could say — I mean, I'm embarrassed that that situation got to where it was, but not personally .... It's not funny. It's not a funny situation at all."
