A real threat in Texas this year is not what we have been hearing. This year is supposed to be all about the cicadas. Have you heard that yet? Apparently, parts of the U.S. are supposed to be taken over by the cicadas. It seems Texas is not one of the big places to worry about so many.

We may not be getting attacked by cicadas this year but that does not mean that Texas will not be dealing with an infestation of its own. We are not that lucky. We may not have to worry about being kept awake by the loud noises that the cicadas make. We may be able to sleep a little better at night.

Until you hear what is going to be taking over. A bug that we have not been hearing a lot about this year. Still will be an annoyance. One that is really going to hit Texas.

Have You Heard of the Crane Fly Invasion?

Oh, the crane fly. They look like mosquitos on steroids but they are not. They will not bite you so that is good news. They will not make you itch for days. They are still an annoyance and still going to show up in droves in Texas this year.

Why haven't we heard much about this? Maybe because they are not dangerous. They are making their appearance right now in parts of Texas. With them showing up it is ensuring we are going to have an early spring. Which really is all we care about.

You will not get bitten. You will not have to worry about this invasion. It is nice to have one less worry. Yeah, Texas may see a lot more of these mosquito-like creatures. They will be around and more of an issue for Texas. They will not cause much of anything. So that is why not much has been around to warn us.
