POLL: Who Has The Worst School Drop-Off & Pickup Line In Amarillo?
With school season back in full swing, one of the biggest things people talk about is school drop-off and pickup. Schools will tell you ahead of time where the pickup and drop-off spots and lines are, but they're always crazy jammed.
Now, I'll be the first to tell you that when it comes to drop-off, we tend to follow the rules, but pickup? Totally different story. We look for a place that is a bit away from the chaos to make it easier for all of us.
This year, my youngest son moved to a new school as we moved out of the Amarillo ISD zone, so we had to get used to a whole new system. Day one was absolute madness. When my wife went to go pick him up from school, she followed the rules as to where to go.
HUGE mistake. She sat in a row of cars for 15 minutes and barely even moved. It was so bad that our son mentioned he was getting close to just walking home, which only would've created panic for her when she finally got up there and he was missing.
We're Not Alone
Scrolling through social media, you can see numerous amounts of people complaining about their situations as well, and not just at one school. It got bad enough at Bivins to where the Mugshots Of Randall County page on Facebook got involved. That post turned into the biggest piece of capital-D DRAMA to hit Amarillo this year so far.
Then Lamar Elementary School and their poor abused handicapped parking spot also popped up.
Sounds like Lamar has some issues of their own. I can attest to Bivins as both my kids attended Bivins for a bit. However, according to commenters, the admin has fixed the morning drop-off there, though.
So where else should we know and avoid drop-off and pick-ups?
So what say you? Who has the worst pickup and drop-off line in the city? We wanna know.
