Cody Johnson Says His Six-Month-Old Son is 'Fat + Happy'

Cody Johnson is nominated for four ACM awards at the upcoming show on May 17, including the coveted Entertainer of the Year award.

Before the results are read off, Johnson stopped by Country Countdown USA with Lon Helton where he gave a rare update on his six-month-old son, Jaycee.

"He’s doin’ great. He’s fat and happy," Johnson says.

"The biggest difference is that with my girls, they were daddy's little girls. They loved to cuddle and snuggle up. But anytime Brandi walks in the room, he goes ‘Mama, mama,’" Johnson adds. "So I’m chopped liver around my house."

Johnson says his daughters are great big sisters so far. "He’s spoiled rotten. Not only does he have Brandi, but he also has those two little girls. It’s a beautiful thing to watch."

Johnson sounds like he thought his two girls would be his only kids, but is elated to have had a third, especially a boy.

"I didn’t picture myself being 38 years old with a six month old," he admits. "It’s one of the best thing that’s ever happened. We could not be more thankful."

Cody Johnson Reflects On Being Nominated For Entertainer of the Year at the 2026 ACMs

Ahead of the 61st ACM awards on Sunday (May 17), Johnson also took some time to reflect on his four nominations, especially Entertainer of the Year.

"Every year you get nominated for Entertainer of the Year, all it does is confirm that the hard work you’re doing is being recognized," Johnson relates. "To win it would be awesome. It's something we’re striving for."

If Johnson doesn't win Entertainer of the Year at this year's ACM awards, he says he is just happy to be nominated in the prestigious category.

"If you look at my tour schedule, you know we’re striving," he points ount. "But even if we don’t [win], just being in the category says a lot about the last 20 years of hard work."
