Lady A are not green when it comes to Grammy Awards wins. Although they have a hefty seven career wins, they still get choked up remembering the first time they held the coveted award back in 2011.

“I just remember Jennifer Lopez handing us a Grammy,” Hillary Scott recalls. “That was the weirdest, most surreal experience. That night was just out of this world.”

Thirteen years later, Scott still is overcome with emotion when sharing the reflection.

“I’ll never be able to fully process it,” she expresses. “I am stumbling over my words to still talk about it.”

That year, the group took home Song of the Year for what is still one of their greatest hits, “Need You Now."

“Need You Now”' upended some of the year's biggest songs across all genres, including Miranda Lambert's "The House That Built Me," Eminem and Rihanna's "Love the Way You Lie," Cee-Lo Green's "F--k You" and Ray LaMontagne's "Beg, Steal or Borrow."

During that same awards show, Lady A snagged awards for Best Country Album, Best Country Performance for a Duo or Group With Vocal and Best Country Song.

Their own personal victories aren’t the only moments that still linger in the group’s mind. While opening up about their fond Grammy memories, Scott disclosed a moment that collectively left them speechless.

“I thought this was so her and was so pro, when Adele started and something glitched,” she recalls. “She said ‘Stop, we’re starting over.’ She just shut down live TV and said, 'I’m doing what I‘m doing.' I loved that — it was so pro in the midst of an oops.”

Lady A discussed this and more about the ups and downs of their career on Taste of Country Nights, On Demand. The full, unedited interview is here.
