Jennifer Nettles had something important to say at the 2019 CMA Awards, and she didn't even need to open her mouth. The Sugarland singer's red carpet outfit featured a hot pink train that wrapped around her waist and opened to reveal a bold message.

Nettles opened the accessory for the cameras to reveal the words: "Play our F@#!n Records, Please & Thank You."

It was a straight-forward message that speaks to gender equality on country radio. The percentages of women getting played on mainstream country radio have reached historic lows in recent years, spawning several important conversations and at least two movements, Change the Conversation and #LetTheGirlsPlay.

The symbol for female is stitched in black along the right leg of Nettles' ivory pantsuit. When closed, the train features a portrait of a woman with a female symbol pendant from her neck. The woman in the drawing looked unamused, in contrast to Nettles who can be seen smiling in all of the pictures taken on the red carpet Wednesday night.

The 2019 CMA Awards will celebrate women in country music. Officially the Country Music Association never stated the theme was in response to anything, but several women involved have spoken passionately in the past about the imbalance, including Carrie Underwood and Reba McEntire. Along with Dolly Parton, they'll host the ABC telecast. Nettles is slated to perform during the opening of the show — a superstar, all-female collaboration of hits.
