Hank Williams has his first recording session, for Sterling Records, at the WSM Studios in Nashville, backed by The Willis Brothers and bass player Chuck Wright. Among the songs recorded is "Never Again (Will I Knock On Your Door)".

Apparently, in an attempt to carry on a "family tradition", Hank Williams Jr. has his first recording session, at age 14, in Nashville. The session features some of his father's songs: "You Win Again", "Your Cheatin' Heart," "Cold, Cold Heart" and "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry"
2012
Taylor Swift’s “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” spent its ninth consecutive week at the top of the country chart, marking a first for a female artist. The previous record had been held by Connie Smith in 1964 with her song “Once A Day”, which spent eight straight weeks at the top.
Rolling Stone named "We Are..." the second best song of 2012. It fell from the number one spot on the country chart after the 9th week, but returned to the top spot the week of January 12th, 2013 to become the first song since Buck Owens' "Love's Gonna Live Here" in 1963 to spend 10 or more weeks at the top of the country charts. "We Are..." also spent 2 weeks at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
2006
Rascal Flatts’ album Me & My Gang became the only country album of the year to sell 3 million copies. The album featured the singles “My Wish” (#1), “Stand” (#1), “Me And My Gang” (#6) and “What Hurts The Most” (#1).
The album has since been certified 5x platinum by the RIAA.
2003
Mark Wills’ hit “Nineteen Somethin’” was named Most Played and Most Heard Song of the Year by Billboard magazine.
2001
Garth Brooks’ album Scarecrow was certified triple platinum. The album featured the singles “Thicker Than Blood” (#16), “Wrapped Up In You” (#5), “Squeeze Me In” (#16 - duet with Tricia Yearwood) and the track “When You Come Back To Me Again” from the movie Frequency.
Lee Greenwood’s album American Patriot was certified platinum. This compilation set contained various patriotic tunes like “America The Beautiful” and “This Land Is Your Land”, as well as a version of Lee’s signature hit, “God Bless The USA”.
