Experience 'Oliver!' And More At Lawton Theatre This Summer

One of my favorite activities as a Nana is taking my theater-loving granddaughter to local theater productions, and lucky for us, Lawton is home to some amazing talent! Coming up this June will be Lawton Community Theatre's final production of its 73rd season, the musical "Oliver!"

"Oliver!" is a musical adapted from "Oliver Twist" by Charles Dickens, and tells the story of a young orphan in Victorian England trying to navigate a life of theft and violence while searching for a place to call home. Lawton Community Theatre will present the classic musical "Oliver!" the second and third weekends of June.

"Oliver!" will be the final performance for Lawton Community Theatre's 73rd season. Below are the times and dates of each performance. All performances will take place at Lawton Community Theatre, located at 1316 NW Bell.

7:30 p.m. Friday, June 12
7:30 p.m. Saturday, June 13
2 p.m. Sunday, June 14
7:30 p.m. Thursday, June 18
7:30 p.m. Friday, June 19
7:30 p.m. Saturday, June 20
2 p.m. Sunday, June 21

Tickets are now available for "Oliver!" at Lawton Community Theatre. Tickets are $18 to $24 depending on section. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit the theater's official website or call 580-355-1600.

Lawton Community Theatre will host a summer theater camp.

If you're like me and you have grandkids who are interested in theater, you'll want to consider signing them up for Lawton Community Theatre's annual theater summer camp! This year's campers will put on a production of "Winnie the Pooh Kids."

The camp is for ages 8-12 and will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily from June 29 through July 10 at the theater. Those interested an encouraged to sign up online or contact the theater for more information.
