Lawton Firefighters ‘Fill The Boot’ Raising Money for Lawton’s Muscular Dystrophy Association
If you find yourself at the corner of Sheridan & Cache Road anytime over the next 3 days, chances are you'll see Lawton Firefighters there - boots in hand - raising money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Their annual 'Fill The Boot' campaign is underway today (Tuesday) until 6pm, Wednesday & Thursday from 8:30am to 6pm each day.
Last year Lawton Firefighters raised $32,000 for MDA - their highest total ever! This year's goal is set at $35,000. It's money that stays right here in the Lawton area funding medical research and equipment, as well as helping to send kids to summer camps.
The Muscular Dystrophy Association is a voluntary national health agency. It's a dedicated partnership between scientists and concerned citizens aimed at conquering neuromuscular diseases that affect nearly 1 million Americans. The MDA annually funds more than 330 research projects worldwide.
So drive by our firefighters and donate to help fund very important cause!
