Lawton Student Wins 2026 International Festival Poster Contest

Artwork by a MacArthur High School student has been chosen for Lawton's 2026 International Festival. The artwork will be used on all promotional materials for this year's festival.

On Monday, July 27, the International Festival Committee announced via Facebook the winner of the festival's annual Poster Design Competition. After careful consideration, the committee selected a design by Jhazen Destiny Angeles, a junior at MacArthur High School.

Angeles' design will be used on promotional materials for the 2026 International Festival.

As the winner of the festival's Poster Design Competition, Angeles received $200 and their artwork will be featured on all promotional materials for the 2026 International Festival. Angeles' design features the flags representing America, Mexico, Philippines, Oklahoma and the Comanche Nation, as well as people representing each culture.

Lawton's annual International Festival will take place the third weekend in September.

Attendees at this year's International Festival will be able to purchase t-shirts featuring Angeles' design at the festival's Information Booth. The International Festival takes place annually during the third weekend of September. This year's festival is set for Sept. 25-27 at Lawton's Elmer Thomas Park.

The International Festival hosts three days of live entertainment, food trucks and vendors, celebrating all the different cultures that call Lawton home. For more information about this year's International Festival, follow the festival on Facebook or visit swokarts.com.
