Enjoy Global Cuisine and Entertainment at the International Festival This Weekend

I'm so thrilled that Lawton's annual International Festival is back this year so I can be reunited with my favorite schnitzel and its chefs. I've been attending this festival and enjoying my schnitzel for YEARS!

Some of my coworkers are looking forward to getting Indian tacos, pierogis, gyros and so much more! You'll definitely be seeing us with multiple plates of food all weekend at Elmer Thomas Park.

2022 International Festival

This year's International Festival is scheduled for this weekend, Friday through Sunday at Elmer Thomas Park. The festival kicks off with one of the best events, the Parade of Nations. This is a true celebratory event featuring all nationalities that call Lawton home. The parade culminates with the Opening Ceremony that features a Naturalization Ceremony for those who are becoming citizens of the United States. If you've never been to the International Festival, the parade and ceremony are not miss events as they encapsulate what the festival is celebrating all weekend long.

International Festival Entertainment

Aside from global cuisine and shopping vendors, the weekend is also filled with various types of entertainment celebrating Lawton's diversity. The lineup is filled with local dance troupes and statewide organizations, including the Oklahoma Fancy Dancers.

The City of Lawton's Arts and Humanities Division, which helps plan the festival every year, has provided a map for attendees, see below. Be sure to come by the KLAW tent on Sunday!
