Lawton's top summer events keep on comin! The Lawton Farmers Market's annual Tomato Festival and Lets Get Moving Lawton are coming up on Saturday, July 11.
Both the Lawton Farmers Market annual Tomato Festival and Let's Get Moving Lawton will be happening the same day and in the same location. So Lawton families can enjoy a Saturday morning with delicious locally grown tomatoes and free activities in Shepler Park in downtown Lawton.
The annual Lawton Farmers Market Tomato Festival will feature a salsa contest and more.
Visitors at the Lawton Farmers Market Tomato Festival will get to try and purchase locally grown tomatoes, as well as other produce, meats, baked goods and more. However, the star of the Lawton Farmers Market on Saturday, July 11, will be the tomato.
The market will host a salsa contest, plus other tomato contests, including the best tasting, prettiest, ugliest and biggest tomato. Winning prizes will be awarded to each contest winner.
The Lawton Farmers Market's annual Tomato Festival will take place from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, July 11 at the market's building, located at 77 SW 4th Street, south of Shepler Park.

Let's Get Moving Lawton will feature free activities in Shepler Park.
In conjunction with the Lawton Farmers Market's annual Tomato Festival on Saturday, July 11 will be Let's Get Moving Lawton in Shepler Park. Let's Get Moving Lawton is a free community wellness event that encourages citizens to get active and connect with the community.
Various activities will take place in Shepler Park as part of Let's Get Moving Lawton. Attendees can participate in any events they are interested in. Below is a schedule of events for Let's Get Moving Lawton on Saturday, July 11.
- 8 a.m. - 2K Walk & Run
- 9:30 a.m. - Zumba
- 10:30 a.m. - Tai Chi
- 11:30 a.m. - Yoga
Residents are encouraged to pre-register online for the Let's Get Moving Lawton events by July 8. Pre-registered participants will receive a t-shirt while supplies last. Day-of registration will be available starting at 7:30 a.m. in Shepler Park.
Let's Get Moving Lawton is presented by the City of Lawton, the Lawton Farmers Market, Comanche County Health Department, Fit Kids of Southwest Oklahoma and the Lawton Public Library.
