New Water Park Set To Open On July 18 In Lawton, Oklahoma
The splash pads and wading pools are now open in Lawton, Oklahoma! But residents are still eagerly awaiting for the new water park that's coming to Elmer Thomas Park. And they won't have to wait much longer as the City of Lawton's Aquatics Center is set to open this summer on July 18!
On May 16, the City of Lawton posted the latest update on the Aquatics Center. Due to the storms Lawton received in April, the opening date for the Aquatics Center was pushed back. Now the Aquatics Center has an opening date of July 18! It will be the perfect time to open as Oklahoma's summer heat will just be getting started.
The City of Lawton was hoping to have the Aquatics Center in time for the city's annual Freedom Festival, but unfortunately, the rains and storms Lawton received in April really delayed important construction. Crews are now working 12-hour shifts to get the Aquatics Center open by July 18.
What will be at Lawton's Aquatics Center?
If you've driven near Elmer Thomas Park lately, you've been able to see water slides up at the Aquatics Center site! The Aquatics Center will also feature a lazy river, recreational pool, diving boards, swim lanes and a concession area.
How much will it cost to visit Lawton's Aquatics Center?
For those who can't wait to visit Lawton's new Aquatics Center, the City of Lawton has already made admission pricing available.
