
Get Ready For Summer Fun At Lawton’s New Splash Pad
It's almost the First Day of Spring, and as the weather gets warmer, Lawton residents will soon be dreaming of days by the pool or taking the kids to a local splash pad. And it looks like Lawton residents will have an all new splash pad to enjoy this year at Lee West Park.
The City of Lawton is continuing its upgrades on local parks, and in the recent Work In Progress Wednesday, the city highlighted the progress on the new splash pad at Lee West Park.
The new splash pad at Lee West Park is set to open at the beginning of summer.
Recently, the city unveiled the park's new playground and the repainted Thunder basketball court. The construction of the new splash pad is expected to be completed at the end of the spring, and is set to open this summer.
Lee West Park is also expected to see more upgrades, including concrete work, walkways, tree planting and expanded green space. According to the City of Lawton, Lee West Park was selected for significant upgrades because of the park's high usage and strong community need within the area.

Lawton's aquatics sites typically open Memorial Day weekend.
For those who are eager to jump in the pool or run around the splash pad, they'll have to wait for Lawton's aquatics sites to open for the season, which is typically Memorial Day weekend.
This summer, Lawton residents will have the opportunity to spend summer days at the new Aquatics Center, wading pools, and splash pads, including the new splash pad at Lee West Park.
