It's that time of year again, Lawton book lovers! The annual Friends Of The Lawton Public Library Book Sale is set for April 16-19 at Central Plaza in downtown Lawton.

Formerly Central Mall, Lawton's Central Plaza will once again host the annual Friends Of The Lawton Public Library Book Sale. Last year, the book sale was hosted on the east side of Central Plaza, but this year, the book sale will be on the west side.

The Book Sale will offer four days of book shopping used books to benefit the Lawton Public Library.

Earlier this year, the Friends of the Lawton Public Library announced the dates for this year's book sale, but had not made the times and location available. But now, we know exactly when and where Lawton book lovers can shop used books while benefitting the Lawton Public Library!

  • 4-7 p.m. Thursday, April 16
  • 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, April 17
  • 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, April 18
  • Noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, April 19

The book sale will take place on the west side of Central Plaza. Shoppers are encouraged to enter through the west doors of Central Plaza, by La Grand Cantina. The book sale will accept cash and card. More information is available on the book sale's Facebook event page.

The Lawton Public Library will also be part of southwest Oklahoma's inaugural Book Crawl.

After the book sale, the Lawton Public Library will also be a stop on southwest Oklahoma's inaugural Book Crawl on Saturday, April 25. Hosted by one of Lawton's local bookstores, Amethyst & Ink, the Book Crawl will take place on National Independent Bookstore Day and will celebrate local bookstores in southwest Oklahoma.

Local bookstores, traveling book trailers and public libraries in Lawton, Elgin and Duncan will be among the stops on the Book Crawl. More details about the Book Crawl are available on the Facebook event page.
