Luke Combs Named Male Vocalist of the Year at 2019 CMA Awards
Luke Combs was already riding high at the 2019 CMA Awards, held Nov. 13 in Nashville, due to an earlier win celebrating his hit "Beautiful, Crazy" as the coveted Song of the Year. Things got much sweeter, however, when he scored yet another of the night's most prestigious trophies: Male Vocalist of the Year.
Combs seemed overwhelmed by the honor when he stepped up to the podium, as it marked his very first win in the category.
"This is pretty unbelievable stuff. I remember sitting on my parents' porch when I was a little kid and watching Vince Gill come up here and win this same award. And I want to thank my team. My fans. And everybody in this room who inspires me every day," he noted, also giving a shoutout to his best girl: "My beautiful fiancee, Nicole."

"Country music means everything to me, and this means everything to me and my family," Combs added. "Thank you guys so much. This is a moment I will never forget."
Combs went into the night as a multiple CMA nominee in 2019. He was nominated for Male Vocalist of the Year, Song of the Year for "Beautiful, Crazy" and Musical Event of the Year alongside Brooks & Dunn for their collaboration on a new recording of "Brand New Man." As noted, he scooped up two of those awards, and also gave a smoking performance of his hit "Beer Never Broke My Heart" to the CMA Awards audience.
