Mac Powell of Third Day's Wife Suffers Brain Aneurysm: 'Pray'

Mac Powell, lead singer of Christian group Third Day, has revealed that his wife, Aimee, suffered a brain aneurysm.

The singer delivered the news via social media, including Instagram, on Saturday (Nov. 30), sharing that Aimee was taken to the hospital via ambulance after experience an intense headache.

A CT scan determined that there was bleeding in her brain that doctors believed was an aneurysm. She entered a procedure so doctors could directly determine the source of the issue.

"The doctors seem optimistic. Please pray!!!" Powell writes in the caption alongside a photo of his wife.

The following day, Powell gave fans another update: During the operation, doctors put in two coils that will stop the aneurysm from bleeding and potentially rupturing.

"Her head is hurting really bad," Powell says alongside a photo of Aimee lying in a hospital bed. "She’ll be kept for many days to be tested and monitored. Thankful for many friends, family, and prayers!"

Third Day have had several albums reach the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Top Christian Albums chart and have scored multiple chart-topping hits, including "You Are So Good to Me," "Sing a Song" and "I Need a Miracle." They've won four Grammy Awards, including two for Best Rock Gospel Album in 2003 and 2005, and a collection of Gospel Music Awards.

Powell and Third Day embarked on a Farewell Tour in 2018 after 25 years of touring.
