Maren Morris had the honor of bringing Taylor Swift to the stage when she won the Tour of the Year award at the 2019 iHeartRadio Music Awards on Thursday (March 14).

"From the Rose Bowl in Pasadena to the Tokyo Bowl in Japan, no one puts on a show and commands a stage like Taylor Swift," Morris remarked, introing the megastar. "When her Reputation tour came to Texas, Taylor was kind enough to invite me onstage to do a song with her in my hometown of Arlington. When it came time to perform it was just me her and like 100,000 people."

"Sharing that moment with a sea of faces vibing along with us was a thrill of a lifetime," she added. "She held that stadium in the palm of her hand. This tour was her best yet — she had incredible stage pieces, a breathtaking light show, and a four-story snake that still gives me nightmares. But the centerpiece, of course, was her electrifying talent and energy she brought to every single stop on the tour."

"Not only did she break her own record — her highest grossing U.S. tour headlined by a woman — the Reputation Tour set a record for highest-selling U.S. tour in history," Morris marveled. "Here's a taste of the magic only Taylor Swift can bring."

The two singers shared a warm moment in an heartfelt embrace that took social media by storm. And, after Swift accepted the award, she had a few words of her own, letting fans in on the surprising fact that her tour was predicted to be a flop.

"One of the most wonderful things about the way that this whole tour turned out — for the entire six months leading up to the first show of this tour, every headline that I read about the tour was, 'This is going to be a massive failure; this is going to be a flop tour,'" she related.

"It really did wonders for my self-esteem," the star admitted. "I've learned a lot ... one of the things I've learned is that life is really unpredictable, and people can make forecasts and predictions. But those predictions and forecasts may not come true if there's an unforeseeable factor involved. And that unforeseeable factor, in this case, was my fans."

"I honestly owe everything, everything in my life to you ... and I want to thank you if you came out in the show in perfect weather, or if you came to one of the many rain shows we've had. And also I want to say thank you if you just watched the show on Netflix on your couch with your dog," Swift told her fans.

Morris continued to gush on Swift after their onstage embrace, writing on social media:

"You just make it about your fans and how they feel before, during, and after your show. I was honored to present Tour of the Year to you."

The 2019 iHeartRadio Music Awards were broadcast live on Fox at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.
