2017 Golden Boot Awards: Vote Now for Music Video of the Year
Welcome to the fourth annual Golden Boot Awards! The Boot’s fan-voted digital awards, the Golden Boot Awards will, in 2017, feature 10 categories of staff-selected nominees who made waves in the country music world between May 2016 and April 2017. Readers can vote for their preferred winner in each category as often as once per hour through 11:59PM ET on June 4. We’ll announce the winners on the site the following Monday (June 5).
This year's Golden Boot Awards Music Video of the Year nominees bring both country and Americana names into the mix: The Avett Brothers' "Ain't No Man" clip is an upbeat, feel-good video directed by the group's Scott Avett and featuring a brief cameo by NASCAR driver Jimmie Johnson. In keeping with the car-racing theme, Florida Georgia Line and Tim McGraw's video for "May We All" is nominated as well; it's a mini-movie featuring FGL’s Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard as drivers and McGraw as their pit mechanic.
Luke Bryan makes an appearance in this Golden Boot Awards category in 2017, for his "Fast" music video, a sentimental look back at his life. Brett Eldredge is also in the running, for his "Wanna Be That Song" clip; it's extra special to the singer because it's set at Wrigley Field, home of Eldredge's favorite baseball team, the Chicago Cubs.
Another Golden Boot Awards Music Video of the Year contender in 2017 is Brad Paisley's "Today," a reflective clip about life's most special, sentimental moments. This year's final nominee in this category is Sturgill Simpson's "All Around You" video; it's directed by Matt Mahurin and rich with imagery telling the story of a young superhero.
