Oklahoma's Cal 'Country Bumpkin' Smith Dead at 81

Classic country fans have another angel in country heaven. Cal Smith passed away yesterday in Branson, leaving behind his wife, 5 kids, 15 grandchildren, and a score of fans across the country.

Best known for 'Country Bumpkin', Smith began his career by singing in a California café at the age of 15. Music wasn't his only job, he also served in the Military, drove a truck, and busted broncs!

Here's Cal Smith's most famous country hit, earning the Song of the Year for both the CMA, and Academy of County Music in 1974, 'Country Bumpkin'.
