Rascal Flatts Is Tops – Today In Country Music History [VIDEO]

Rascal Flatts became the first country act since 1992 to be the best selling artist in all of music for the year. Their Me & My Gang album sold 3 million copies that year. The album featured four singles: the title track, (#6), “My Wish” (#1), “Stand” (#1) and “What Hurts The Most” (#1 Country & Adult Contemporary).
A re-release of the album also featured the song “Life Is A Highway” from the soundtrack of the Disney/Pixar movies Cars, which wasn’t released officially as a single, yet it still charted at #18.

2010
The Zac Brown Band gets a gold album for You Get What You Give. The album featured the singles “Knee Deep” (#1 with Jimmy Buffett), “No Hurry” (#2), “Colder Weather” (#1), “As She’s Walking Away” (#1 with Alan Jackson) and “Keep Me In Mind” (#1).
The album has since been certified Platinum by the RIAA.
2005
Rascal Flatts became the first non-solo male country act to win Billboard Magazine’s Artist of the Year award.
Miranda Lambert’s album Kerosene was named Best Country Album of the Year by the Nashville Scene newspaper. The album featured the title track, “New Strings” and “Bring Me Down” as singles.
2003
Keith Urban's self-titled solo debut album is certified platinum. The album featured the singles "It's a Love Thing" (#18), "Your Everything" (#4), "But for the Grace of God" (#1) and "Where the Blacktop Ends" (#3).
2000
Breathe becomes Faith Hill's best-selling album, as it's certified quintuple-platinum. The album featured four singles: “Let’s Make Love” (#6 with Tim McGraw), “If My Heart Had Wings” (#3), “The Way You Love Me” (#1) and the title track (#1).
1999
Shania Twain’s album Come On Over was certified multi-platinum for sales of 16 million copies. The album featured 12 singles released world-wide, including “That Don’t Impress Me Much” (#8), “Honey I’m Home” (#1) and “You’re Still The One” (#1 pop & country).
To date, the album has sold more than 40 million copies world-wide.
1998
The Dixie Chicks’ album Wide Open Spaces was certified triple platinum. The album featured five singles: “I Can Love You Better” (#7), “Tonight The Heartache’s On Me” (#6), “You Were Mine” (#1), “There’s Your Trouble” (#1) and the title track (#1).
The album has since been certified 9x platinum.
1997
Garth Brooks’ album Sevens was certified multi-platinum for sales of 5 million copies. The album released five singles: "Longneck Bottle” (#1), "She's Gonna Make It" (#2), "Two Piña Coladas" (#1), "Do What You Gotta Do" (#13), "You Move Me" (#3) and "In Another's Eyes” (#2 with Trisha Yearwood).
The album has since been certified 10x platinum by the RIAA.
1995
Shania Twain’s album The Woman In Me was certified quadruple platinum. The album featured 8 world-wide singles, including “Any Man of Mine” (#1), “No One Needs To Know” (#1) and “Home Ain’t Where His Heart Is (Anymore)” (#28).
The album has since been certified 12x platinum by the RIAA.
