Reba McEntire Reveals Her Country Crush + Talks About Being Crushed On
There's no shortage of young country men who've admitted to having a thing for Reba McEntire. Dustin Lynch isn't shy about his crush. Cole Swindell completely lost his mind when he first met her.
Not long after McEntire helped welcome Lynch as the newest member of the Grand Ole Opry the singer and CMA Country Christmas host talked about the next generation of country men loving on her. "Everybody wants to be loved and accepted, and by 30-year-olds? That’s not a bad thing to happen to you," she said, smiling.
Long ago, the tables were turned and McEntire was the newcomer with eyes for a country star. Taste of Country pressed her on if she can relate to Lynch and company's starstruck amor for her.
"Yes, I did have a crush when I was getting started in the business, or even before when I was in college," she shared prior to the taping of Monday night's ABC special. "Johnny Rodriguez. So cute."
Rodriguez is a '70s country hitmaker who scored No. 1 hits with songs like "You Always Come Back to Hurting Me" and "I Just Can't Get Her Out of My Mind." He's only four years older than McEntire, and it's not clear if he ever learned that McEntire had eyes for him. It's quite a different story for Lynch and Swindell, who are 30 and 28 years younger than the 63-year-old Reba — who, for the record, does have a boyfriend near her age in Skeeter Lasuzzo.
Both Lynch and McEntire performed during Monday night's CMA Country Christmas special, and prior to the show, Lynch told ToC and other media how he held on to one peculiar item from the night she welcomed him into the Opry: tissues she gave him to dab his crying eyes.
