Celebrate Harvest Season with These Fun Fall Festivals

Fall is undeniably my favorite season, and you can definitely tell when you visit my home during this season. There's fall foliage and pumpkins everywhere! I know a lot of people get excited for Halloween, but the apple of my eye this time of year is fall.

So I love a good fall festival, and there are plenty in Oklahoma for all to enjoy! These events are especially great to take the grandkids to. We love picking out pumpkins, bobbing for apples, jumping hay bales, and of course, posing for a cute fall family pic.

TravelOK has a great list of top fall events in Oklahoma. But below, I'll highlight a few awesome fall festivals taking place right here in Southwest Oklahoma!

Festival of the Wichitas - Saturday, October 8, 2022

The Festival of the Wichitas is a free family event will begin at noon Saturday, Oct. 8 and end at sunset with a fireworks show! Enjoy basking in the fresh air at the base of the Wichita Mountains and spend the day filled with fun fall activities, including bounce houses, petting zoo, corn pit, craft fair, hay rides, fair eats, live music and more! The Festival of the Wichitas will take place at 19792 NW Cache Road in Cache.

Fall-idays at Discovery Outpost - Saturday, October 8, 2022

Discover Outpost in Medicine Park is great place to take my grandkids for fun activities and shopping, but it's especially great during its Fall-idays celebration! They'll have outside seating by the fire, live music, complimentary hot apple sider and cookies, along with fall games and crafts. Falli-days at Discovery Outpost will take place from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8!

Red River Pumpkin Patch October Fest - Saturday, October 15, 2022

If you haven't been to the Red River Pumpkin Patch in Davidson, Oklahoma, then you're missing out! They have activities all October long but they have their big October Fest scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 15. During their festival, they'll have a pumpkin carving contest, face painting and a coloring/drawing contest. They not only have pumpkins galore, but they also have a corn maze!

On Saturday, Oct. 28, Main Street in Norman will close down for the Downtown Norman Fall Fest! The event will have trick-or-treating, inflatables, art activities, fall games and more. Businesses along Main Street and other organizations FILL the street with awesome fall activities for everyone to enjoy, and free candy is always a bonus! This will be the 7th annual Downtown Norman Fall Fest, so you know it's going to be good.

I love getting up on a Saturday morning and heading to the Lawton Farmers Market. The organization opened up its new, permanent location on SW D Avenue in downtown Lawton earlier this year, and it has already become a pillar of our community. So getting ready to go to the Lawton Farmers Market on Saturday, October 29, will be extra special because the market will be having its annual Harvest Festival! The market will have trick-or-treating with its vendors, a fall photo booth and other fun, fall activities! This will be great event for families, plus you can get your groceries for the week!
