You can't accuse Steel Magnolia singer Meghan Linsey of being a pessimist. Despite an incredibly rough patch over the last couple of years that included her partner/fiancee Joshua Scott Jones going to rehab, the duo losing their record deal and then ending their personal relationship, she refuses to discount the possibility of them recording together again.

"I’m not saying we’ll never make another record because you never know," she tells Country Weekly in a new interview.

The duo first shot to fame after winning the second season of 'Can You Duet?' In 2009, their debut single 'Keep on Lovin' You' became a Top 5 hit, and they have scored additional hits including 'Last Night Again.' In September of 2011 Jones issued a statement that he had entered rehab to deal with unspecified addictions, and James Otto filled in for him on a string of tour dates. Rumors flew that the duo had broken up both personally and professionally, but they surprised everyone by getting back together for some live dates in 2012. They are currently working on separate projects.

"We were together personally for a long time, almost six years, and we did break up. We basically took some time to ourselves, reconvened, decided we could tour together, decided to go ahead and book the dates, and then in the meantime, we started working on our solo projects," Linsey explains.

She says she's excited about whatever the future may hold. "I see it as a positive thing. I’m really grateful for the experience and to have had the success that we had, but he was doing a solo thing before, too," she observes. "And I think we both had that in the back of our minds that we would do solo projects."

Linsey recently performed songs from a solo project at a Nashville showcase, and she also contributed vocals to 'The Voice' finalist Cody Belew's new single, 'Baby Get Out.'
