Steve Moakler and Wife on Expecting First Child: ‘It’s Gonna Be Bumpin”
Steve Moakler shared some exciting news with fans on Wednesday morning (July 18). The singer and his wife, Gracie, are expecting their first child together later this year.
"Well team … it looks like we’ve got a 3rd passenger coming on the road this year," he writes as the caption on a photo of the couple, with the singer holding up a onesie. "It’s gonna be bumpin’ #DadJokes."
The couple shared the news while parked outside their camper. Baby's first outfit reads "Moakler" on the back in orange lettering.
"It turns out cakes aren’t the only thing I’ve been baking this year," Moakler's wife shares on her personal Instagram page. "We cannot even get over how excited we are to meet this little human!! Gonna have a third passenger on our camper tour this year."
Moakler, a Nashville based singer-songwriter, recently released his new album, Born Ready. The title track serves as the lead single from the project. He was asked to create the song for a trucking company, and he wrote it with a trucker's life in mind. But eventually, it evolved into his own story.
Luke Laird co-wrote "Born Ready" with Moakler after representatives from Mack Trucks asked for a song that fit their campaign. Moakler's actual inspiration came from a lyric in "Siddle's Saloon," a song on his previous album, Steel Town, which was about a bar his grandfather set up at his house. The same grandfather ran a fleet of Mack Trucks.
"It started as, 'I’m gonna write a song for them,' and quickly became ‘Hey, there’s a lot of me in this song, too,'" he tells Taste of Country.
Baby Moakler's official due date has not been revealed.
