"Close Enough to Walk" is the Sundance Head song his fans from The Voice were hoping for. The Texan's big soulful voice shows vulnerability during this smartly worded, easy-to-embrace love song.

It's a song George Strait would cut, which makes sense as Dean Dillon — Strait's favorite songwriter throughout his long career — produced "Close Enough to Walk" and all of Head's Stained Glass & Neon album. A clever hook identifies the mid-tempo, soul-country heater. "You don’t have to drive me crazy, I’m close enough to walk," he sings to close each chorus.

Head frames this song as his first real country single, indicating others that came first were more for promotional purposes or held back by his record label drama after he won the hit NBC reality show in 2016. It's a strong effort made better with Dillon's arrangement and coaching. That bit of gravel in the singer's voice separates him from other burly, bearded crooners in country music. So too does his sincerity.

Did You Know?: "Close Enough to Walk" was inspired by something Head said during an argument with his wife. She stopped him and told him he needed to go write that song.

Sundance Head, "Close Enough to Walk" Lyrics:

The way your eyes light up the night / Has my heart crying out for more / I wanna hold you till the morning sun / crawls out across the floor / Your body’s calling me, I can feel the energy / I can’t even talk / You don’t have to drive me crazy, I’m close enough to walk.

Chorus:
When you dance like that and you move like an angel / My mind gets hacked and my thoughts get tangled / When you do what you do babe, it oughta be against the law / You don’t have to drive me crazy, I’m close enough to walk.

I’m already losing sleep at night / I can’t get you off my mind / To ease this tension I have deep inside / Let’s kill this bottle of wine / Your body’s calling me, I can feel the energy / I can’t even talk / You don’t have to drive me crazy, I’m close enough to walk.
