wichita mountain wildlife refuge

The Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge and the Association of Friends of the Wichitas will be conducting "Fall Foliage Walks” on November 9 and 16.  Interpreters take participants for a one-mile walk through a forested canyon.  Participants will enjoy the chance to view the autumn colors of red, yellow, orange and brown as leaves begin to change with the season.

I have said it before and I will say it again.  Oklahoma has some of the most beautiful wild flowers I have ever seen.  I love taking my camera out and capturing the colors in the spring.  You have an opportunity to see these beautiful wildflowers and learn about them with a guided tour.

The Refuge will be selling more than fifty calves and five adult longhorns at the Stockman-Oklahoma livestock market in Apache.  The calves will sell on Thursday May 3rd at 9am and the adults on Friday, May 4th.
