Chattanooga’s Beloved Taquizaz Grill Is Making A Comeback
When Taquizaz Grill closed its doors in Chattanooga three years ago, the town was left without a single restaurant. But this week Taquizaz Grill announced that it would be reopening its location in Chattanooga.
Taquizaz Grill first opened in 2019, right before the COVID-19 pandemic, and closed its doors in 2023. Since then, the only place to get a bite to eat in Chattanooga is the local Hop & Sack.
Taquizaz Grill announced it would reopen its Chattanooga location.
On Monday, March 23, Taquizaz Grill announced on the restaurant's official Facebook page that it is planning to reopen the Chattanooga location. According to the post, part of the reason was Chattanooga residents requesting the restaurant reopen.
In the comments, Chattanooga residents expressed their excitement for the return of Taquizaz Grill. Some said they missed they missed the restaurant and appreciate the owners reopening it. Others said it was one of the best places to eat in the area and are happy about its return.
Taquizaz is set to reopen in its former location at 509 3rd Street in Chattanooga. An official opening date has not been announced yet.

Taquizaz Grill was a restaurant more people needed to know about.
Even though Taquizaz Grill only had two reviews on Yelp and five reviews on Google, it still received high praise from locals and those who passed through Chattanooga and stopped for a bite to eat.
Almost every review raved about how delicious and fresh the food was. Reviewers also commented on the kindness of the owners and how good the service was. But one review on Google stands out now that Taquizaz is set to reopen:
"A nice little niche place that more people need to know about."
