...and then in 2008, Swift was named Top Selling Country Artist of the year and came in fourth overall in that category with more than 5 million albums sold in 2008 alone.

Blake Shelton's team finishes one and two as Cassadee Pope wins the NBC competition "The Voice" and Terry McDermott is runner-up. Pope and McDermott sing "Catch My Breath" with guest Kelly Clarkson.

Tim McGraw and Faith Hill’s Soul2Soul 2 tour ranked at #5 on Pollstar’s year-end list of top grossing tours, bringing in $88.8 million. Kenny Chesney’s tour came in 8th with $61 million grossed. They were the only country tours in the Top 10.
Sugarland’s album Enjoy The Ride was certified platinum. The album included the singles "Settlin'" (#1), "Want To" (#1), "Everyday America" (#9) and "Stay" (#2). The album has since been certified 3x platinum.

Tim McGraw's Greatest Hits album is certified gold and platinum on the same day. It featured hits from his first six albums, as well as the new single "Let's Make Love" (#6) a duet with wife Faith Hill. The single was also featured on Hill's Breathe album.
