Craig Morgan delivers an acoustic set in Kuwait, the first concert in a Middle East tour for American G.I.s during the holiday season.

Morgan performed acoustically in remote sites throughout Iraq and Kuwait where the soldiers definitely needed a boost in morale. The holidays are an especially difficult time for the troops who are deployed in foreign countries and unable to be with their families and friends during the holiday season.

National Public Radio ranked Johnny Cash’s “I Walk The Line” among the 100 most important American musical works of the 20th century.
1997
Martina McBride’s album Evolution was certified platinum. The album featured the singles "Happy Girl" (#2), "A Broken Wing" (#1), “Whatever You Say” (#2), “Wrong Again” (#1) and "Valentine" (#9). Also on this album was "Still Holding On", a duet with Clint Black which was originally released on Black's 1997 album Nothin' but the Taillights.

Hank Williams Jr.’s album Family Tradition was certified gold. The album featured the singles “To Love Somebody” (#54), “I Fought The Law” (#15), the title track (#4) and “Old Flame, New Fire” (#54).

Johnny Cash’s album The World Of Johnny Cash was certified gold. No singles were released from the album; it contained covers as well as several songs that previously recorded and never released.

Willie Nelson's home in Ridgetop, Tennessee, burns while he's in Nashville at a Christmas party. When Nelson sees the house in flames, he runs in to rescue his guitar, Trigger, and a bag of marijuana stashed inside the case.
