October 25, 1984
Alabama becomes the first country group to go triple-platinum, with the Feels So Right and Mountain Music albums each certified for shipment of three million copies.
Released in 1981, Feels So Right featured three #1 singles: "Love In The First Degree", "Old Flame" and the title track. It was the groups first #1 album and stayed on the all genre album charts for more than three years.
Mountain Music was released in 1982 and featured four singles: "Close Enough To Perfect", "Take Me Down". "Green River" and the title track.
The albums Roll On and The Closer You Get would be certified double-platinum 10/25/84.
2008
Craig Morgan joins the Grand Ole Opry, performing "Rose Colored Glasses", "Almost Home" and "International Harvester."
The former member of the Army's 82nd Airborne division received his invite from John Conlee while performing at Ft. Bragg, a base he was stationed at for two of his ten year stint in the Army.
Conlee, who introduced Morgan on his first appearance at the Opry, would also officially induct Morgan.

Sarah Colley is born in Centerville, Tennessee on this date in 1912. Performing as Minnie Pearl, she spends 50 years on the Grand Ole Opry and becomes a regular on "Hee Haw," joining the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1975. She passed March 4, 1996 at the age of 86 from complications of a stroke.
