Tiffany Woys' new video bears a powerful message for women everywhere. The country singer tackles the difficult subject of abusive relationships in the video for her new song, "Hostage."

Ben Caver, Sara Haze and Sam Ellis teamed to write the song, which talks about a toxic, abusive relationship that just won't seem to end.

"You won't stay but won't walk away / Just give me a chance to forget your name / You say you don't want more, but I'm at your door / And I don't wanna fight this war / Don't wrap up my love, baby / Just let me go / You're holding my heart hostage / Just let me go," she sings in the chorus.

The video for "Hostage" recalls the good times in a relationship, but also foreshadows problems by depicting a man who appears to drink too much and may have a problem with prescription drugs. The video ends with him in legal trouble and Woys reclaiming her power by leaving the relationship.

"Filming the video for ‘Hostage' was really important to me. This song represents not being held hostage by your feelings in a relationship, and I wanted the video to take this concept a step further, by digging deeper into what could keep someone from walking away," Woys tells Taste of Country. "As an artist, I’ve always known that I wanted to stand for something bigger than myself – maybe even push boundaries that may feel uncomfortable or be a catalyst for difficult conversations. This video is so real for so many relationships, and I wanted it to be able to reach people who may need the courage to walk away from something that could hurt them. Robert Chavers did a phenomenal job directing this and completely saw my vision. I hope you all enjoy watching this video as much as I did making it!"

Woys' "Hostage" video premieres exclusively with Taste of Country today.

The California native lists Faith Hill, Carrie Underwood and Celine Dion among her primary influences. She moved to Nashville a few years ago to pursue her country music career, and Woys released a self-titled EP in February that features songs from Nashville powerhouses including Shane McAnally and Justin Halpin.

"Hostage" is available via a variety of digital music services. For more information, visit her official website, or follow her on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
