Tom Hiddleston hasn’t seemed particularly enthusiastic or optimistic about reprising the role of Loki in the MCU, but with Avengers: Infinity War promising the epic assembly of Marvel characters yet and a new Thor sequel on the way, the actor’s return seemed inevitable. During a recent appearance at Wizard World, Hiddleston expressed excitement for Thor: Ragnarok, teasing the evolution of his mischievous villain and confirming another run-in with the Hulk. Oh, and he also responded to those James Bond rumors.

Hiddleston participated in a panel at Wizard World Philadelphia (via ComicBook.com), where he was asked what we can expect from Loki’s return in Thor: Ragnarok. The actor acknowledged that it’s been a few years since we last saw Loki, and he’s genuinely excited to revisit the mischievous villain:

What I’m interested in really is how his attitudes have changed. While Thor was away with his buddies fighting a computer, and uh, I’ll think you’ll see it’s, there is all sorts of interesting things. I’m four yeas older and Chris is four years older, and there will just be new things we find in it. The most exciting thing about him is that he is always a trickster. It is trying to find new ways for him to be mischievous, because I love doing that.

With Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk set to co-star in what’s been described as a sort of intergalactic buddy road movie, Hiddleston says we can definitely expect another confrontation between Loki and the big green guy. “The last time Loki and Hulk were in the same room didn’t go very well for Loki so he’s got a few chips on his shoulder,” Hiddleston says.

As for rumors that he’s in talks to replace Daniel Craig as James Bond, Hiddleston was predictably dodgy:

I’m sorry to disappoint you everybody.  I don’t think that announcement is coming. But I’m very gratified to hear the enthusiasm. There’s not much that I can say that I haven’t already said, but I know… your guess is as good as mine to be honest.

That doesn’t sound very optimistic, but it’s not as if he’d just come right out and admit that he’s in talks for the part, either.

Thor: Ragnarok hits theaters on November 3, 2017.
