There's so many great places to ride bikes in southwest Oklahoma! But the best way to see the most beautiful scenery all in one ride is during the annual Tour of the Wichitas. This year's ride is set for Saturday, June 21, and will take riders through historic Fort Sill and the enchanting Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge.

This year's Tour of the Wichitas will feature four routes:

  • 18.9 miles
  • 31.8 miles
  • 50.8 miles
  • 64.4 miles

All routes are available for single and tandem riders. Registration for single riders is $40 and $50 for tandem. Riders can register online at www.tourofthewichitas.com or in-person the day before and the day of the ride. Online registration is available through June 19.

Tour of the Wichitas is a 'stop-and-smell-the-roses' ride.

Tour of the Wichitas is a noncompetitive ride, instead, it encourages riders to take in the scenery of southwest Oklahoma. In a press release, Kim Rogalski from the Friends of the Trail Committee, stated that Tour of the Wichitas "is one of the most beautiful rides in southwest Oklahoma."

"This ride is planned by local bike riders who are passionate about riding and who love southwest Oklahoma," Rogalski said. "No matter what route they ride, every single rider that has taken part in Tour of the Wichitas has always said they can’t believe how beautiful and fun the ride is."

Riders will need a Fort Sill visitors pass for Tour of the Wichitas.

Riders and their crew will need to get a Fort Sill visitors pass for this year's Tour of the Wichitas. Luckily, passes are super easy to get online. Riders can also get their Fort Sill visitors pass in person at the Fort Sill Visitor Center.
