Twitter Reacts to the Dallas Cowboys Bring Back the Throwback Uniforms
Here’s some welcome news for this Cowboy fan.
I don’t know what it is, but there’s something about throwback uniforms that I just love.
I wrote a piece back in May about my desire for the Texas Rangers to permanently bring back the throwback uniforms they’ve been using from time to time during this, their 50th anniversary season. To me, it’s a super cool look that is so unique to the Texas Rangers.
However, when it comes to the Dallas Cowboys, I feel the main white home uniform is a classic that doesn’t need to be jacked with, unlike my old buddy Stryker. But I am a big fan of the original uniform as a Thanksgiving Day alternate.
So, I was a little bummed when the throwbacks were retired a few years ago due to an NFL rule change that didn’t allow for a second helmet. Now that that’s been reversed, the Cowboys will be bringing back the throwback for Thanksgiving 2022. Hallelujah!
I hated it when they wore blue at home on Thanksgiving just because they felt the need to mix it up on Thanksgiving Day (and I know several other fans who felt the same way). The Cowboys wearing blue jerseys at home is just weird – unless, of course, we’re talking about the blue throwbacks. Those are cool.
And judging by fan reactions on Twitter, I’m not alone.
